Evaluating Sovereign

Start with the work you want your team to accomplish, then choose the environment in which you want to try it.

Managed alpha

The managed alpha is the initial evaluation path. Its goal is to let you try Orbit without first assembling and operating the platform yourself.

The onboarding journey being prepared is:

1. Create and verify your customer account.
2. Create your organization with a unique Organization ID, or request to join an existing organization.
3. Select the managed alpha offering and set up your first workspace.
4. Wait for the platform to prepare access.
5. Enter Sovereign, with Orbit as the initial application.

Joining an existing organization requires approval; knowing its identifier does not grant access.

Managed onboarding is still being prepared for release. Use the signup entry point to see the access options currently offered.

Self-hosted evaluation

Self-hosting is for organizations that want to operate Sovereign in their own environment. It is a separate setup journey from the managed alpha.

The local deployment guide is coming soon. It will cover the supported installation package, first owner setup, and checks to confirm the installation is ready.

What to decide before a wider rollout

Use the evaluation to understand how the product fits your team:

• The work and documentation you want to bring into Orbit.
• Who needs access and how your organization manages identity.
• Where data and connected services need to reside.
• Which capabilities and usage limits your organization needs.
• Who will operate the installation if you choose self-hosting.

Application access, licensed capabilities, and deployment readiness should be confirmed for the offering you select. Alpha access does not imply a production service commitment.
